The Real Rock Workshop is a program designed specifically for the needs of my students. Many of my students are at a point in their musical journey that they need the interaction of other fellow musicians as well as the motivating force of preparing for and participating in public performances.
After coming to the conclusion that most areas and schools don't have something that could be considered a "community rock band", it seemed like a void that needed to be filled.
Primarily I wanted this program to take place in a way that was unlike most programs with similar long term goals. Most notably, I wanted it to be conducted in an environment that is not only suitable for making music, but more importantly was "real". My personal studio is a room where 4 different bands rehearse. It's not the prettiest rehearsal room, but it's fully equipped and truly represents the type of environment that is typical to those who really make music. This is the real world. This is where real musicians and bands come to write, play, practice, and most importantly, prepare.
